Before becoming the board-certified dentist he is today, Dr. Patrick had a multitude of different jobs, from a volunteer firefighter to an EMT on the back of a life squad. However, he found his true passion in dentistry, and he’s spent the last 10+ years helping children get the positive, anxiety-free, comfortable, and compassionate dental care they deserve. In fact, one of his favorite parts of his job is seeing a once-nervous child leave his office beaming with newfound confidence!
Dr. Patrick’s studies began at Thomas More University, which is where he earned his undergraduate degree. From there, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Kentucky. Forever passionate about expanding his knowledge and expertise, he chose to further his studies by pursuing his Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Toledo Medical Center and completing a two-year advanced training program in pediatric dentistry. Although all of these accomplishments are impressive on their own, one of his proudest achievements is becoming a board-certified pediatric dentist near Bow Mar. He earned this distinction after completing rigorous exams and countless hours of continuing education on everything from general anesthesia and pediatric medicine to patient behavioral management.
When Dr. Patrick isn’t helping growing smiles, he loves spending time with his wife and their wonderful daughter. His interests outside of dentistry are quite expansive. He loves cooking, watching college basketball, cycling, skiing, and visiting the mountains. He’s also a big dog person. He even trained a dog to do pet therapy for kids who struggled with reading!

Still have questions for our board-certified pediatric dentist near Bow Mar? We can help! For more specific answers about our practice or your child’s oral health, please call our office. The most frequently asked questions we hear from parents, such as what to do if your child requires emergency dental care, are answered below.
Dental injuries ranging from persistent toothaches to knocked-out teeth can be stressful and painful for you and your child. Fortunately, you can lower your child’s chances of experiencing one considerably through good dental habits. These include brushing each morning and evening, wearing a mouthguard while playing sports, and having a dental checkup and cleaning every six months.
However, not all emergencies are entirely unavoidable. If a dental injury harms your child’s smile, first assess the damage. If they have difficulty breathing, uncontrollable bleeding, or a fractured jaw, i.e., a potentially life-threatening symptom, get medical attention and call 911 or go to the closest emergency room. For more straightforward dental injuries, like a knocked-out or chipped tooth, then call our practice right away. We make every effort to treat your child on the very same day with morning, lunchtime, and after-school hours available.
If you want the perfect practice for your child, you first need to ask what is important to you. For some parents, being close by is a major concern. For others, the expertise of the dentist matters more or whether they take your dental insurance.
At Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry, we meet all those criteria! We are located less than 15 minutes away from Bow Mar, we have a board-certified pediatric dentist, and we gladly work with basically all PPO plans.
For the most savings on your child’s dental care, you need to prioritize prevention. Skipping their biannual checkup and cleaning increases the chances that they’ll develop tooth decay and other serious oral issues. When you come to our practice, our team works with you to make routine visits more affordable. In addition to welcoming dental insurance and maximizing your available benefits, we can talk to you about flexible financing. With this payment method, you can pay for treatment in more budget-friendly chunks.
