Nothing brightens up your day like seeing your child’s smile. We feel exactly the same way, which is why we dedicate all our efforts to help them receive outstanding dental care and feel right at home at our Washington Park dental office. Our experienced, compassionate team knows that lifelong oral health starts with positive experiences early on in life, and we want to give every patient we meet a reason to smile and laugh and actually look forward to visiting the dentist.
You may wonder why our dental office logo is a young oak tree, and the reason is a simple one. Growing kids remind Dr. Patrick of trees; they’re both very resilient and can bounce back from almost anything life throws their way while continuing to thrive. It’s an amazing experience to watch every special patient develop a stronger sense of self-image and confidence over the years, especially when he’s helping them work towards a healthier, stronger smile!
Unlike some other dental offices, we don’t add to your child’s stress by rushing through their appointment. Instead, we talk with them, get to know their unique personality and needs, and help them feel welcome and relaxed. In fact, Dr. Patrick will actually address your child before you in many cases, a simple gesture that can go a long way in helping them feel more comfortable, particularly if they are nervous. Dr. Patrick and our team are also much more thorough in our dental exams compared to other dental offices, and we take the time to explain everything to both parent and child so that everyone can understand what is going on and why it’s helpful. By removing some of the “mystery” that surrounds dental care and individualizing our approach, we can make appointments a much more pleasant and productive experience for everyone. Some of our young patients actually become excited about visiting the dentist because they know they’ll learn something and be so well-taken care of.
Both parents and children have plenty of reasons to love our dental office. Our facility is clean, modern, colorful, calming, peaceful, playful, and features large windows that let plenty of natural light in, which can help reduce stress. We even have a back patio with a beautifully maintained green space so Mom and Dad can relax and get some fresh air while we take care of their child.
Dr. Patrick and his wife, Heidi, actually met at a seminar on how to care for special needs kids. It’s very important for us to do whatever we can to help families with children with special needs or sensory challenges have a successful visit to the dentist each and every time. Just let us know before your child’s appointment about their special needs, and we’ll make any accommodations necessary to ensure that they have a calm, productive visit with us.
Learn More About Special Needs Dentistry
Everyone on our team loves children! We know how to put children, ranging from small babies all the way up to maturing teenagers, at ease and make dental care a stress-free experience. Our team members are warm, gentle, and friendly and can cater treatment to your child’s individual needs. In everything we do, we strive to help your child have more confidence in their ability to succeed at the dentist.
As parents ourselves, our team knows that any kind of dental trauma can be very scary for both children and parents alike. If your little one ever experiences a bad toothache or injures their teeth in an accident, know that you won’t have to handle it alone. Our staff has a lot of compassion for children and parents in these situations, and we’re more than ready to help. Dr. Patrick has over 10 years of emergency dentistry experience, so he’ll know how to get your child out of pain while saving their teeth at the same time. Should your child ever need urgent dental care, don’t hesitate to give us a call (even if you aren’t 100% sure it’s an emergency). We’re often able to schedule same-day appointments so that we can take care of a problem and provide relief as quickly as possible.
