Thank you for considering Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry for your child’s oral care. We take that responsibility seriously, although we have a lot of fun during appointments. You may have questions about our dental office, and we want to help you make the best decision for your loved one. Below are some of the most common questions we get and our responses to them. If you have other questions that aren’t mentioned here, don’t hesitate to contact our team.
Every day, we try to create an atmosphere that is truly calming for parents and children alike. Although we work with kids on a daily basis, our dental office is a relatively peaceful place. Dr. Patrick and the rest of our team make appointments enjoyable and playful, and we spend time building trust with our young patients, calming fears and making personal connections that encourage lifelong oral health. We take our value statment seriously: "We treat patients with kidness and respect, where play is valued, and trust is our legacy."
We recommend at least two dental visits every year at Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry. These routine appointments include a thorough oral checkup with Dr. Patrick, during which he can catch any problems that are in early development—before they cause serious damage or pain for your child. Then, we also remove plaque that they may have missed in their at-home oral care, preventing cavities and other issues in the future.
We offer a wide range of restorative solutions, depending on what your child needs. For small cavities, we use composite resin, a metal-free substance that can be shaded to match their enamel. In some cases, a medical grade stainless steel crown may be the best way to address the problem. In others, we can use a white zirconia ceramic posterior crown. When your child needs restorative care, you can bet that Dr. Patrick will make sure you and your child understand the options and reasons behind his recommendations.
Tooth and bite alignment affects more than just the appearance of your child’s smile. It impacts how your child eats and functions on a daily basis, and misaligned teeth are more likely to develop cavities or wear down faster. Dr. Patrick ensures that your child’s mouth has the appropriate space to accommodate all their teeth. If necessary, we can provide early intervention to avoid or at least lessen orthodontic care later on.
Absolutely! As your child grows, Dr. Patrick can keep a sharp eye on their oral development and alignment. He has the advanced training necessary to recognize signs of potential problems and provide early intervention through Phase 1 and 2 orthodontics. Instead of referring your child to another dental office, we can handle every step of orthodontic treatment right here with a team that your child is already familiar with.
If your child is struggling with dental anxiety or has special needs, we can administer several forms of sedation, including nitrous oxide. In severe cases, we can even perform general anesthesia right here in our dental office! Dr. Patrick and the rest of our team will monitor your child to make sure they are safe and comfortable during the entire procedure.
Yes, our team is highly trained and equipped to adapt to your kid's needs. This is a passion of ours and our goal is to provide an environment that is perfect for your child. We can provide sensory care and help your child feel calm and comfortable throughout their entire appointment so that they can receive the dental services they need without stress. If your child has sensory or other special needs, we want to help!
We sure do! High-quality dental care for your child shouldn’t have to come at a high price. Bring your insurance information with you to your child’s appointment, and we’ll happily file claims for you. If you find insurance language confusing, don’t worry! We can help you understand your plan’s benefits and give you ideas for maximizing your coverage.
