Kids Like Us, Parents Love Us

I couldn’t have been more happy with my pick of Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry! My daughter (a little over 2) needed a dentist to go to. Taking her for her first dentist visit I was a little nervous; being an adult who still gets nervous going to my own doctors visits I didn’t want to project this feeling/vibe onto my daughter. Immediately upon entering I felt better and the staff and Dr. Patrick were very kind and helped put me and my daughter at ease. They talked to us to get to know us, the staff gave my daughter toys and stuffed animals to play with, there were bubbles to look at, I started to see my daughter get comfortable. As a parent I was very impressed with their knowledge of kids, their understanding and tolerance of crying, their technique to brush my 2 year olds teeth (when she puts up a fight for me), and the time the Dr gave us. As a 1st grade teacher I was impressed with their sensory room for kids with special needs, and other kids (including my daughter), their kid friendly environment and timing, and their knowledge they share with kids and classrooms throughout the community. I give them 2 thumbs up and 5 stars! Thank you Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry!

Frequently Asked Dental Questions

Before you give us a call and schedule an appointment, you may have questions about our dental practice or about your child’s dental health. To help you feel comfortable in your choice, here are some of our responses to common questions parents have asked us. Just remember that we’ll be happy to answer your questions during your child’s visit as well!

Why Is Dental Health Important for Kids to Learn Early?

Many adults who choose not to go to the dentist because of negative experiences in the past can develop fear. Others did not gain the necessary skills to keep their smile healthy and suffer from tooth pain and other problems. When children learn young about how to properly care for their teeth and have good experiences, they are more likely to continue these healthy habits into adulthood. As a result, they can preserve their natural teeth and enjoy a stronger, more brilliant smile!

What Is the Best Way to Find a Pediatric Dentist in Denver?

Would you take your child to a pediatrician or a general family doctor? Just as a pediatrician undergoes special training, a pediatric dentist dedicates three additional years to become board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, focusing exclusively on dental issues that infants, toddlers, children, and teens may experience. This expertise centers not only on clinical treatment for growing smiles but also on creating an uplifting, educational environment for younger patients and those with high/low support. As a result, if you want your child to have positive early dental experiences, Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry has the perfect setup!

What Are the Best Ways to Prevent Dental Emergencies for My Child?

At-home care plays a huge role in keeping your child’s smile protected from cavities, but a dental appointment every six months is just as important! Not only will we make sure your child’s teeth and jaw are developing properly, but we’ll also remove any plaque missed in brushing and flossing. We can also actively prevent cavities through fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and other treatments. If your child is involved in potentially risky activities, such as football, hockey, or even soccer, we can also provide a custom mouthguard for ideal protection from dental injuries.

Why Is It Important to Treat a Lip or Tongue Tie?

If you’re trying to nurse a baby with a lip or tongue tie, you are probably already encountering difficulty, but if the issue isn’t resolved with a frenectomy, a lip or tongue tie can make eating solid foods, learning to talk, and getting quality sleep much more challenging later in life as well. Through a simple procedure that takes only a couple of minutes, we can give your child better oral function by improving the tongue’s range of motion. Needless to say, if your child has a restrictive tie, a frenectomy can significantly help in breastfeeding and in your baby’s development.

Should I Bring My Teenager to Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry?

Absolutely! We specialize in serving young patients from infancy clear until the age of 18, when most people are done in their oral development. Until that age, our team can care for your child’s growing smile with instructions for how to take care of their teeth and gums, orthodontic treatment to give them a strong and beautiful bite, and wisdom tooth extractions in a low-stress environment where their comfort comes first.
